In ancient times, when Mencius was young, his mother often wove on a loom beside him. One day, Mencius played nearby while his mother continued weaving. Suddenly, he saw her stop weaving and asked why. His mother replied, "If you do not study diligently, just as the cloth is incomplete, how can you become accomplished?" After hearing this, Mencius was deeply moved and returned to his studies with dedication. Eventually, he became a great scholar.
